Knit It Now was conceived by Sue Jalowiec and Matt Friedman.
Sue saw the need for patterns for the yarns she sold. Due to the nature of her business, her yarn inventory changes constantly. Keeping up with pattern support using the standard tools proved to be a challenge. Allowing customers to use any yarn with a pattern was the answer.
Partnering with Matt Friedman, Knit It Now was born. Matt's extensive experience in web application design, along with Sue's knitting and sewing experience have proved to be a great combination, creating the web's first comprehensive on-line pattern generating application. With 3 simple steps, knitters produce custom patterns based on their choice of yarns and their own gauge! No more trying to match a designer's gauge for a yarn that is discontinued.
Matt and Sue then quickly Realized that the engine they had created could be opened to designers all over the world. We invite designers to become contributors to Knit it Now and participate in our service.
