"While looking at (older) knitting machine magazines I always see these ladies wearing a long-sleeve sweater they just knitted up while knitting on the knitting machine (that's being advertised).

Rule #1 about knitting on a knitting machine: You cannot wear a long sleeve sweater while knitting on the knitting machine. Gate pegs are not your sweater's friend."

A number of knitters chimed in and confessed to having ruined a sweater or shirt because the machine "ate" the cuff. LOL!
