Knit-along: Cuff to Cuff

Yoke / Skirt

If you'd like your cuff-to-cuff longer than the width you have available, consider knitting panels to create a yoke and "skirt".

The seam can be placed just below the bust (empire style) or the seam could be at the waist with panels below (peplum).
A-Line
  • Knit the bodice cuff-to-cuff with the length to just below the bust
  • Add side-to-side panels to add the desired sweater length
  • Use short row shaping to create the A-line shape

Peplum
  • Knit the bodice cuff-to-cuff to the waist
  • Add panels (either direction) to add the desired sweater length
  • Make the panels wide enough to add a bit of gathers

A-Line Panel
  • Knit the bodice cuff-to-cuff to just below the bust
  • Panels to add the desired sweater length
  • Knit the panels horizontally or vertically to create the A-line shape with or without gathers
