Hi,
Can I use all my ribber punchcards on the knitter?  My manual (SK155) says I can use #1 and #5, but what about the rest?

Hi Kathleen,
The best answer is to try it! ðŸ˜Š

Remember the punchcard only controls the needles on the main bed. The ribber needles are just "along for the ride" but putting different combinations of ribber needles in work creates endless possibilities!

Let's look at card #4
(The SK155  machine is a 12 stitch repeat)

Let's consider different stitch techniques - single bed only:

1. Fairisle ... Using fairisle you'd have really long floats
2. Tuck - Single row tuck would give some texture, but if you used the "lengthen" feature of your punchcard, you would tuck over 2 rows and create an interesting stitch pattern.
3. Slip - same as tuck ... I'd use the "l" setting .. but I can't picture slip spaced this far apart.
4. Knit weave - again really long floats

Can you see the logic here and maybe picture the resulting knitting from the cards?

We have a tutorial "Identify Punchcards" that may help
