Hi I’m based in Madison Wisconsin and new to machine knitting and just purchased an old Kx350 to test drive — having acquired new parts, replaced the sponge bar, etc I can get it to work but after a few rows the knitting comes off the side needles…user error?  â€” am using weights of course

Hi Geri!
Welcome to the world of machine knitting and to Knit it Now.

Is the yarn you are using correct for your machine? Is it too thick?

What setting is the tension dial?

Are you taking the carriage too far past the edges  of knitting (or not far enough?)

Knitting too fast?  (everyone does it now and then)

Sometimes those end needles don't knit correctly, and the needles pull out so the last few stitches aren't formed. Check each time to make sure (you may have to manually push a few end needles back to form the stiches correctly)
