Light In the Window

Through the Eyes of a Machine Knitter

I LOVE Kits!

Choosing colors is not my strongest suit, letting the designer make the choices for a multi-color blanket is the best solution.

This updated blanket is knit in 5 colors. Select a bright or light colorway for one rectangle in the center panel (color E) to symbolize the light in the window, a light that represents care and love.

YES, the inpiration pattern is hand knit in Garter Stitch But there is nothing stopping us from knitting this in stockinette. (Work a little "no curl" magic for the edges).

The Plan:
  • Center Panel:
    • Cast on and knit in Garter stitch (by hand or hand manipulate) for 1.5 - 2"
    • Continue to follow the pattern in plain knitting.
    • End the panel with 1.5 - 2" of garter stitch.

  • Left and Right Panels:
    • Cast on and knit in Garter stitch (by hand or hand manipulate) for 1.5 - 2"
    • Follow the pattern in Stockinette, adding Diana's No-Roll Edge
    • End the panel with 1.5 - 2" of garter stitch.

  • Instead of seaming the panels, consider Sew-As-You-Go , joining the panels as you knit.
