I used this basic pattern and designed a fair isle punchcard to make it more festive. I knitted for a 3year old and 10 year old, but must admit I didn't like or trust this pattern. There are more stitches on the back piece than the front, which confused me, as they're normally equally split (ie the same number of sts). Maybe this is to account for the wide neck, which looked good on the smaller size. The back had 80sts, the front 72. But when doing the bigger size 100 back sts with 72 front sts made it look a bit daft- even when wearing. I wouldn't use this again. The cardigan pattern was great however, I had a big order and they were very quick to knit up, as I knitted the sleeves top down.
