The vest was worked bottom up, in pieces and seamed. The argyle motifs were done with intarsia carriage on the first row on the bottom of vest, and the rest of them and the cross-hatching was done later with duplicate stitch. Stitches were picked up around the armholes and neckline and worked by hand in rib stitch. The shoulders were extended to the back using an english tailored shoulder technique found in Rutherford Vest pattern by Holli Yeoh.
