00:33:44 Carol Ann: I have four strips of the blanket blocks all attached, and blocked. Now to get the four strips attached and crochet the edging! |
00:34:02 Mary Ann Bucklin: They are also easier to transport to knit inâs. |
00:34:57 Annie Lindsay: I think you first have to decide what yarn weight you use most often. Go from there. |
00:37:01 Patricia Bauer: I put my setup together from eBay. took some research to find what would work together |
00:37:13 nancy mangeri: the manual machine is also easier to maintain and repair... it is important to keep your machine clean and in good working order... |
00:37:55 Betty: what is the thickest weight you can use on mk150? |
00:38:15 Marie-Jo: A ribber increases our machine knitting skills !! |
00:39:10 Mary Ann Bucklin: I originally bought a punchcard machine because they usually do not die. |
00:40:00 Mary Ann Bucklin: The drawback to a puncher machine is the pattern is limited to 24 stitches. |
00:40:07 Ruth: Plus, all that hand manipulation keeps you humble. |
00:40:54 heknitter: hi Sue...I mixed all my punch cards in one box, now I donât know which is which |
00:41:11 heknitter: how do you tell a 12 or 24 stitch punchcards |
00:43:46 Annie Lindsay: Working every other needle allows for some of the heavier yarns. |

00:44:51 Annie Lindsay: Yes, I have 3 different gauges. |
00:45:08 Mary Ann Bucklin: I have a Silver Reed 860 which is a misgauge. It is a metal bed and has a ribber. |

00:47:38 Lyn Reese: Betty, I have a KH260, with a ribber which is a bulky |
00:48:16 Annie Lindsay: EON gives you a better drape as long as it fits the needles and is knit able. |
00:49:07 nancy mangeri: 4 &8 stitch repeats were push button no cards.. then there was the JAC40 accessory took a card and you manually used it to pull needles forward. Then came the 12 st card (brother 800) then came all the 24 st cards...and stitch selectors for bulkys |
00:49:46 Marie-Jo: Are the KH 270 machines still available ? |
00:50:26 Larry from Georgia: Hi Sue, how do you tell which cards are 12, or 24? do you count the holes? |
00:50:54 nancy mangeri: still use my 8 button all the time. |
00:52:14 Annie Lindsay: Machines are measured by MM between the needles. |
00:52:40 Darcy Walton: sk155 silver reed is a bulky |
00:53:25 Dawn Wischer: Ebay and shopgoodwill.com are good machine sources. Have purchased from both with no problems. |
00:53:47 Eleanor Leap: KH230 is one of the first Brother Bulky machines, but don't remember if there was a ribber. I had a Brother 350 manual machine. It would knit some mohair as well as worsted weight. It was perfect for DK weight yarn. |
00:55:08 Betty: ly where did you find your kh260 |
00:56:24 nancy mangeri: if you are having frustration learning your machine take a break, and pick up your machine manual and go to lesson 1 and review it will help you figure out what's bothering your progress. |
00:57:33 Mary Ann Bucklin: Iâm fortunate to have 3 dealer within several hours driving distance and have purchased my machine from a dealer. They are clean, or repaired and supported by the dealer. They do carry used machines. |
00:59:10 Lyn Reese: Nancy, got it off of eBay. came with the ribber. what was expensive was the shipping from California to Texas. |

00:59:53 Lyn Reese: sorry, meant Betty. |
01:00:13 Betty: thanks lynn |
01:00:48 Annie Lindsay: The leaning curve is determined by your age or when you started using electronic of any kind. There is a lot of cross over or by common sense. |
01:01:02 erinh: mk70 singer i think is a 6.5 |
01:01:23 Marie-Jo: It's important to choose a knitting machine like you choose a piano ! |
01:01:48 nancy mangeri: only 12 holes per row for 12 stitch machines...at least brother... in fact the BROTHER 800 has a different method of using the card.. it doesn't connect together to be circular...it is f |
