Wilma T LOL, I agree. While I tend to change each pattern I knit, done that since I started |
Dawn W Some people can't plan for their projects and totally rely on a pattern. Have seen the same thing with quilters. |
Cynthia P with little ones i like the hoodie poject. |
Jenny M B It's not a luxury - it's a restriction! |

Mary Ann B I've done that Nancy, and it works well. |
Ebba R Hallo from Sweden |
Dawn W Nancy, thanks. Sounds like a very good solution! |
Jacqueline O More expensive but fine/thin yarn or thread you can put on the public side of the plaiting feeder (I am not a fan of either metallic or mohair but these are options) then the surface of the public side better shows off the 'fancy' yarn |
Nancy M if you stack your cones and put one yarn up through the top most cone's coneand then thread them together it will automatically twist them as you knit. |
Nancy M on some yarn antennas have a small wire loop that directs the plating yarn afyer it goes through the take up . |
Nancy M just cast on with both strands |
Jenny M B I've only made plaited sweaters, but 2 very fine strands make quite a lightweight fabric. |
Mary Ann B You could use it to line an itchy wool. |
Annie L Do you have a photo of a yarn twister? |
Eleanor L Plaiting is good when you have a thin yarn you really like because you can use two yarns for extra body and still have your preferred yarn show. Eleanor from Michigan |
Diane C I must have needed a third cup of coffee that day. Duh! Thank you! |
Jenny M B Yes! |
Diane C Jenny: after you thread the plait gadget? |
Jenny M B Diane C, I e-wrap cast on with the 2 strands together. |
Betty E J Like double knitting by hand? |
Diane C This webinar is great timing for me! I just got a part for my Toyota 901 that allows me to plait. Iâm baffled by how I would cast on, though. The yarn is threaded through two separate holes. I canât make this very clear, sorry. Any thoughts on this?? And hello from Vermont! |
Mary Ann B I've wondered about using plaiting on mittens to make them warmer. |
Jenny M B Hello from North Wales, everybody! Big fan of plating here. |
Cindy Minota The door is locked so I can't get any surprise visitors! I want to listen to this live for a change!!! lol |
Ruth S My service dog. |
Mary Ann B The instructions -somewhere- said to hold the top yarn to the back. I had stripes where the yarn colors changed sides. Wasn't a total loss as they were irregular enough and kind of looked planned. |
Ruth S Ruth and Agadore here from Canada. He's a big fan - loves to sit on the desk and watch you. |
Nancy M speed and how the tension pulls the yarn from the ball. |

Marelda C Hello from South San Francisco. |
June H Good Morning from Washington! |
Darcy W Am I late? Did you start early? |
Mary Ann B I was using my Silver Reed 860. It doesn't have a plaiting feeder. |

Mary Ann B I used plaiting on a Misgauge without a plaiting feeder. The yarn switched sides periodically. |

Wilma T Thank you :-) |
Mary Ann B Hi! from Minnesota. |
Leo B Do you have to use two threads of the same weight or diferent weights |
Wilma T Need some tips on avoiding , poolingâ of one colour in the other. I really want one colour on one side and not switching sides. Why does it happen? |
Leo B I have a brother 970 |
Leo B Hope to learn to used the plating feeder and what we can do with it. |
