Lynnette D You're welcome.. But I always use the result of the gauge ruler |
Mary Ann B I think you need to use one and stick with it. |
Carol D I use both just to double check! |
Mary Ann B Thanks Lynnette, I thought I was wierd. |

Kari E OK THANKS! Back to the drawing board. I don't know how to use those. I have many of those but haven't figured it out |
Lyn R Had to Mark my rulers to know which was standard and which was bulky |
Nancy M regular ruller and do the math |
Mary Ann B I like the ease of the gauge rulers, but when I checked against the regular ruler I got a different outcome on one of my samples. |
Jenny M B Gauge ruler every time! |
Cynthia P regualr |
Marelda C regular ruler |
Jane L How about a forum where we can ask you random questions that we would like answers to. |
Nancy M it also has more weight per yard. |
Lyn R Machine knitting gauge rulers |
Nancy M cotton does not stretch as much but some cottons shrink on the first wash. |
Lynnette D When measuring gauge, do you prefer knitting machine gauge rulers or a regular ruler and doing the math? |
Kari E baGGING OUT |
Patricia H Thank you Sue |
Cynthia P how to change a sponge bar on an Lk 100 |
Susan K Kthank you! |
Kari E total novice question.... do cotton blends stretch more than an acrylic or wool blend |

Marie-Jo C The same for me ! |
Cynthia P phyl i just have to find out how to change the sponge bar |
Terry S how do i get to the map |
Phyl in Raleigh, NC Cynthia, that's great news, you'll have a lot of fun with that LK 150. I have one too and you'll be surprised how useful it is - and easy to move around. |
Jane L Map worked for me |
Nancy M I can send my special tech team to deal with those cookies. |
Matthew F I failed LOL |
Carol D No problem! |
Matthew F Yes - the map did not work - sorry |

Phyl in Raleigh, NC Cynthia, I just got a Brother/Knitking 965, ribber and G-Carriage. Very excited. I will post about it on the forum. It will be interesting to see who else might have one or a similar machine. |
Cynthia P Mary ann that is so funny. lol |
Kari E Depends on how advanced you are, Annie. For me, sweating bullets burns off calories when I'm just thinking about it. lol |
Mary Ann B Annie it depends on whether you snack as you knit. |
Terry S My grandson is a XXL college football player. He wants a fair isle sweater. HELP! |
Annie L How many calories can you burn in an hour of knitting? |
Kari E Thanks, Mary Ann! |
Patricia J S Patty--I have added the underarm panels, and, also, for a Pullover, 3 panels and 3 panels |
Mary Ann B Yes, Cynthia. Design elements - on purpose! |
Cynthia P these ideas would work great for thinner people as well. |
Kari E That's what I'm talkin' 'bout with my visioned pattern matching the back panel and side panels.!!! Yay! |
Mary Ann B Look for not enough needles Kari. |
SHIRLEY R Nancy M: I like that idea. |
Cynthia P Hi Phyll |
Phyl in Raleigh, NC Hi Cynthia! |
Nancy M that center panel becomes a blank canvas for fancy work... being sure to PROPERLY SWATCH &DRESS each stitch type |
Kari E What course are you looking at now? |
Cynthia P that soounds liek the panel T sweater/top |
Kari E I have a vision pattern that included a back seam, plus two side seams each with a design (lace or tuck. I think that wold work as a design element as well. |
Nancy M I did a hand manipulated garter ribs alongthe hem edge to deal with that |
Patricia J S Need Plus Size patterns!! |
Kari E THanks Nancy |
Kari E Couldn't you add a hand manipulated ribbed edge to add length and stability? |
Lynnette D So, I recently found a formula by Elizabeth Zimmerman called the Percentage System, and made a sideways sweater using that... and it came out pretty good... |
Nancy M you do need to hang and weight swatch to cause drop before measure |
Kari E Sometimes you just build it a we will come. :>) |
Marie-Jo C The problem with sideway pullover is to get a pretty waist band.. |
Jody A yes |
Patricia J S Betty Rae and Patty--YES!!! |

Cynthia P yes i need to hide the tummy |
Aly T Yes |
Jane L definately add |
Sheila G Yes |
Kari E yes! |
Eleanor L from Michigan. With cardigans I sometimes add all armhole beginning bindoffs to the front pieces as they are narrower to begin with and can fit the needle bed. Sometimes just taking that off the back and adding to the front is all the space we need. |
Kari E How woiuld you add length if you prefer longer length? |
Kari E do sideways knit stretch out in either direction |
Lyn R Interested in sideways knits since I'm a plus |
Mary Ann B Loved the sideways knit cardigan class. |
Lynnette D Yes! Yes! |
Ruth S Good idea Mary Ann. |
Carol D Good afternoon from the sunny, warm, Catskill Mountains of New York. A GORGEOUS day! |
Mary Ann B Sideways knits work unless you need to add inches for larger hips. Solved with godets and it wasn't difficult. |
