Frogs are cords looped into knots so the loops are used for a button loop. (Can't really think of a better description.)

Zippers will pucker up when they're washed which is the shrinkage that happens so don't forget to press them flat when they're still damp

You could put a zipper in with rhinestones

when using snaps I always knit a double band and insert some non-stretch fabric to buffer the ripping motion in opening the snaps, reduces wear and tear!

We call them press studs in the UK!

have done vertical bands just for the front bands in tubular knit and latched tooled it on by dropping a stitch or 2 snd latching it to the body.

my very first sweater I hand knit the bands in seed stitch and they were whimpy and flimsy so I faced the bands with matching grosgrain ribbon and they are finally falling apart 50 years later......😉
