When knitting a long piece like a dress, sometimes the fabric gets stretched by the weight of it and so turns out surprisingly long...
Silvana J
thanks
Silvia O
After knitting a swatch I let it rest a few hours. Then I wash and dry it. Then it is ready for measuring.
Silvana J
What happened was that my headband was not long enough based on the dynamic pattern number of rows
Silvana J
I swatched in plain stockinette
Silvana J
I used my ribber to knit a "tube" that I could then turn into a headband or earwarmer, should I knit a swatch as a tube then?
An V
Okay, I appreciate your explanations.
Marie-Jo C
I won't any longer measure my body! A very interesting advice,Sue! Thank you...
Karin R
Ribbing sometimes needs stretching to measure correctly because it relaxes (broadens) later, I think - depending on the yarn
Maurie H
I knit my piece and let it sit over night then hang it and measure.

Matthew F
We have a doll sweater that we suggset to use for practice and yoga pants.
Tina B
For me it depends, a ribbing i use to stretch a little, just like i want to have it in the garment. otherwise i have too much stitches in my garment
Cherie S
Will you be making a pattern for dolls or stuffed animals?
Silvana J
Talking about gauge, I have a problem with getting the right gauge. My question is, to measure are you supposed to stretch the swatch or pin it without stretching it
Marjorie M
Since Covid I don't fit ANYTHING. It's been T-shits, jeans, and sweatshirts. I can't see measuring them for a renewed wardrobe.
Marie-Jo C
too much
Marie-Jo C
My problem is that I add to much ease !
An V
Hello, how to calculate the measurements for a Yoke sweater, thank you in advance
Tina B
measuring the loved garment is the best tip ever about fit. <made my life so much easier.
