I bought this book when I bought my first machine in the late 1980"s. I loved the patterns and it was going to be my first foray into the machine and the book. To say it was a steep learning curve is a gross understatement because of the errors in the book. I didn't live all that far from Rowan Mills and I spent quite a few weekends hammering on its doors because I couldn't get the patterns to work. I still have the duplicated typed corrections Stephen Sheard gave me at the mill! I still have the book because the Setersdahl is my husband's favourite sweater. I've knit him 6 over the years and am about to start another. Some of the patterns have single row colour changes, and that meant a lot of ends to sew in. I have made quite a few of the others too, It is a beautiful book with lots of good information from Brother, and lovely patterns, although some a bit dated. Its photography was exceptional for knitting books of the time and that's down to Rowan.

Although the styles are somewhat dated, the colorways and stitch patterns are timeless and inspirational.
