The Silver Needles Machine Knitting Club will be hosting two different 2day hands-on workshop on DAK.
Design A Knit (DAK) is a software program that enables you to design your own garments and stitch designs among other useful things. It also has a knit from screen option that helps keep us on track with shaping and color changes and so much more. We will have Dottie Richie of Stitcher’s Dream in PA teaching about the DAK program. For those of us who have the program and have done little with it this is our opportunity to be led through the functions of DAK. MARCH 11 & 12 is the first hands-on seminar. By the end of the two days we should be able to travel through the program successfully and knit from screen the simple garment that we designed.

APRIL 8 & 9 is a 2day hands-on session for those who would like to knit a YOKE SWEATER using the DAK program to assist with the design & knitting. This second two day workshop will cover fairisle design ideas, color suggestions (within what we ourselves bring as options) color change, combinations & order suggestions all of which can be seen in “true color through the DAK program on your computer screen before having to knit it. By the end of the second day we should have a yoke knit and ready use in finishing our sweater.

Each 2day workshop is $60 and includes lunch (with dessert) and coffee/tea/water/snacks throughout the day. These events will take place at the Masonic Lodge, 1883 NY-13, Cortland, NY 13045. A bright, clean and welcoming venue. Contact Susan Adams at
