Hi,
     My name is Jane Lane.  I live in Waverly, New York.  I am probably an intermediate beginner in that I can do some things well but haven't a clue about other things so I ask alot of questions.  I own 3 machines and have been dabbling for several years.  I am a very accomplished hand knitter and crocheter so I get frustrated easily when I see how easily I screw up when knitting on my machine.  I found Knit It Now and love the site.  I was looking for patterns but also really like it for all the techniques I am learning about to fill in my  gaps.

Welcome!  
I love your comment about getting frustrated ... welcome to the club! 

With the machine we can knit so much faster, but it's also easier to make BIG mistakes! It's not likely that you'd knit 20 rows too many when hand knitting, but it's so easy to lose track and knit too many rows on the machine.
