I saw this idea on several podcasts (In a Pickle and Crafty Cottage) and thought I needed to get brave with the new machine (SK280) and give it a go!  I cast on with ravel cord so when I remove it from the comb, it is already a tube --waste yarn separates the two socks and saves the live stitches for toe pick-up and ribbed cuff stitches which I will do by hand.  Since I made these for my daughter and I knew her foot length, I could put the ravel cord in for the afterthought heel!  I will post the finished socks soon!  I am on to something that makes me very happy!

Soooooo Good! You've got it all going.  Knitting in the round, afterthought toes and heels. Combining machine and hand knit ... So clever!

Can't wait to see the finished socks!

Could you please post how you were able to do this? It has been my main knitting goal for years and I have yet to get it to work...

Kelley,
Are you having trouble knitting in the round?  What's happening?

Are you able to knit ribbing?
Sue
