I see that the seam is different from all the other columns.  Maybe leave off one of the end Eyelet columns.

Someone yesterday made a suggestion to mattress stitch 1/2 a stitch instead of a full stitch.

This would give you a full stitch for the seam

So you'd set up your knitting so there is a stitch on each edge like this

Seam those 2 stitches by only using 1/2 of each stitch and you'd get a full stitch between the eyelets on the seam.

Haven't tried it, but I think it would work  .... maybe a bit fiddly
