I saw this mask on Instagram and asked the maker (@sewknitartistdesigner) about the pattern. The vague answer was measure and knit. I tried short rows and then was told to try partial knitting. Anyone know how to do this? Short rows, partial knitting, etc.... I’ve tried and failed repeatedly  1A2F435C-7763-4631-A156-3D7977E1B92B.jpeg  346F2FD6-A093-478E-8061-42A55FBD1F9A.jpeg  2A41E8A4-E3C2-47AF-8411-5E562F231BF0.jpeg  94AA469B-497C-4BFC-9905-175B928E7C01.jpeg

Short Rows ... partial knitting they are the same...

Let's say you cast on 30 stitches and knit to the shaping section

Use an automatic wrap method to work the shaping

  1. Set your carriage to hold
  2. *Next to the carriage, put one needle in hold
  3. knit across*
  4. Repeat from *to* until there are 10 needles in work in the middle of the bed
  5. Cancel hold and knit a couple of rows
  6. Repeat the shaping
  7. *Opposite the carriage put 1 needle into working position
  8. Knit across*
  9. Repeat until all needles are back in work
  10. Continue knitting straight.

You can vary the number of needles - I just choose 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 for simplicity

This would be similar to adding bust darts to a sweater

This is what the knitted mask looks like to me
