Back Neck shaping.I have knited to RC 258. Pattern reads 29 sts on waste yarn, knit sts at left. COR knit 1 row (RD259) At beg of next and every foll alt row cast off 2 sts x9 Knit to RC 265. Should I not end up on RC 267?

Hi Claudia!

I'm confusted ...looking at your pattern, those aren't  the instructions I am seeing.

It's the Retro Summer top Size 7   7/11 gauge?

 No wonder I couldn't find your Knit it Now pattern!

It looks to me that you are correct, the row counts aren't right

RC 258 Start the shaping

Knit 1 row - RC 259

"At the beg of next and every foll alt row cast off 2 sts x 9"

I interpret this to knit another 18 rows

259 + 18 = 276

I'd just follow the instructions and ignore the row counts.  Then MAKE SURE you do the same thing for the front - ending on Row 276


All I can tell you is that we don't use abbreviations in our patterns and our instructions are a lot more clear.

You could have used our Carnation Pullover and added any designer details (cables)
