The pattern that I love and my daughter wants is using cream and dark navy, which is great. The problem is the pattern is from about 20 years ago and the size is too small for my daughter.  She needs at least a 44 chest size.
After some calculating I found I would need more needles than are on my KM and that pattern is using a punch card. Im in love with this pattern!  My question - I know I can do the 2 fronts (its a cardigan) and the sleeves; but the back is really not going to work with their dimensions.
If I divided the stitches on the back and duplicate the pattern leaving the left armhole, the back with half the neckline, and  then flipped the pattern stitches and did the right sleeve with half the neckline and armhole etc. I would be able to use the punch card for the design. Would this work?
I would be using a kitchener stitch to match the back seems.
