Hi I currently have a standard gauge machine
only had it 3 months As I am new to knitting machines
I am thinking of purchasing a new LK150 as I prefer to knit with thicker yarns can anyone advise if this would be a good move ?
I am using every other needle to knit with Aran and chunky yarns at present but I am finding it quite confusing trying to work this way with patterns etc
I would appreciate so guidance
thanks Roz

Hi Roz
Lk150 is good for dk and aran yarns, and uk 4ply at the tightest tension. I believe I tried a chunky and it knitted ok, but thicker chunky yarn would have to be knitted every other needle.

Joy is quite right and the LK150 might be a very good choice for you considering you prefer thicker yarns than the standard gauge likes. One thing to consider, though, is that with the LK150 you will not have the option of adding a ribber in the future. Metal bed machines to which you can attach a ribber are available in mid-gauge (the same or similar to the LK150's gauge) although they are more expensive, of course. Just something to think about before you make your mind up.
