I need help!  If you look at my patterns you will see one for a fancy sock in size 11.  The directions effectively end with the creation of the heel down from the cuff starting point.  You do not explain how to attach the heel.  I tried attaching it to the cuff in hold stitches but ended up with a twisted sock.  I redid it but now have an ugly huge seam on the outside of the sock.  How do I attach it so the seam is on the inside of the sock and therefore not visible?  Thanking you in advance.  Jane

Hi Jane,
Which version are you knitting cuff to toe or heel to cuff?

If you are knitting the heel to cuff version,
About 4:26 in this video shows how to join the 2 piece without twisting.

Yes I know that video. I did cuff to toe which ends with the heel needing to be attached to the cuff.  No video for that !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok - for the cuff to toe, the best seam would be a Kitchener graft the scrapped off heel stitches to the held cuff stitches.

Instead of scrapping off the heel stitches, I would re=hang the cuff stitches and Kitchener on the machine.

Well that makes perfect sense.  I thank you very much.  Now I can proceed with the second sock.

Jane,
My apologies that it wasn't more clear and you struggled.

I added some additional instruction to the pattern
and I renamed the sock "Cuff to Heel" (instead of Cuff to Toe)

If you re-build your pattern you'll see the changes.

PS.
I really  like to Kitchener graft on the machine - It seems that I can keep the stitches more uniform than stitching it in my lap.
