A new approach, sideways knit the 'front' ( innstep and front leg) for getting this piano pattern right, and knit the back leg and the sole divided and kitchnerstitched it together.
Then picked up for an afterthought heel, the toes and a 2x2 ribbing by hand.
There is a li[le bulk at the pick up lines, but that will soon dissappear by using the sock.
(The inspiration is the bakerloo sock, found on ravelry, as handknit it is totally sideways knit.)
The alternativ would have been basic sock with intarsia, frankly i did not want to do this, and i think the stitchpattern is much nicer that way.
