Hi, I’m retired and have two machines, a 1980’s era standard gauge and an early 2000’s midgauge, both with ribbers.  I especially like to knit socks and usually use the Elizabeth Zimmer approach.  I knit a tube on the machine and add heel and toe by hand.  I often do ribbing on the machine.  Lately I’ve been doing some single bed socks or slippers on the midgauge with mock rubbing that I learned from Sue.  I started knitting a age 8 and machine knitting in 1990. For many years I belonged to a local machine knitters group, but it disbanded a couple years ago, so I’m glad to see this online group.

Hi Kara! Welcome to the Forum!
Mid-gauge socks/slippers are soooo comfy and warm ... do you knit them toe up or top down?

Elizabeth  Z's "afterthough" heels and toes sound like a great topic for a workshop/knit-along  .Anyone interested?
