One generous, (150 gram), reasonably priced, ball will knit hat, cowl and fingerless mitts.
Or knit 2 hats!

Challenges:

Manual machines
Challenge #1
  • Use the Knit it Now Mile-a-Minute Hat pattern
    (knit 2 hats with one ball of yarn and only cast on once)
  • Scrap on and knit the hat length of your choice
  • Seam the hat
  • Pick up the cast on edge and knit ribbing in the round
Challenge #2
  • Cast on loosely and reform ribbing by hand
  • Knit the desired length of the hat.
  • Gather the top of the hat or add shaping
Challenge #3
Instead of gathering the top, use one of the Knit it Now shaped top patterns Watch Cap, Shaped Crown Beanie

Challenge #4
  • Challenge yourself to knit a hat in the round
  • Scrap on and transfer stitches to the ribber for tubular knitting
  • Knit the body of the hat in the round
  • Gather the top of the hat
  • Pick up the cast on edge with a circular hand knitting needle and knit ribbing in the round
