This is an early Brother electronic machine with a 200 stitch repeat. It is a standard gauge 200 needles positioned 4.5 mm apart. The Compuknit III is mechanically and electronically identical to the Brother KH930. One feature of this machine is that intarsia capabilities are built into the main carriage. This machine offers electronic patterning capabilities. The memory of the machine has several (555+) pre-programmed built-in patterns. For custom patterns, it has a port to import and export patterns. Importing patterns can be done via PPD-100, PPD-120, FB100 disk drive, or connecting to a computer through a special link cable and software. Additionally, simpler patterns can be entered manually by pressing buttons on the machine. This machine also allows you to manipulate the patterns (doubling it in length, mirroring, turning left/right, revering, etc. It also has settings (activated by pushing the buttons on the carriage) to knit tuck, fair-isle, skip, thread lace, lace, weaving and plating knitting.
