Cables are traditional favorites of knitters both hand and machine. You CAN knit cables on the machine ... no matter what machine you have.

What is a tuck stitch in hand knitting? I don’t know that term

I think you may have missed my question, This is Kari from Tacoma. when reforming stitches do you do it with just each cable group or the whole line of cables
Special T
Depending on yarn i have knit the cable cross row plus one more row. Then take out extra row. Transfer cables then manually taking the cables stitches. I use the reformed side stitches..

when reforming stitches do you do them one cable at a time or the whole series of cables when you are all done?
Sally S
i tried leaving 2 needles out of work each side and then reforming 1 stitch only on each side to give some ease
Annie L
Run a purl stitch, on each side of a cable, on the ribber bed.
Lorraine L
if you leave a stitch out of work, how do you keep the border stitch from getting sloppy. Hand knitting you would knit thru the back loop
Maurie H
the green and blue is that intarsia and cable at the same time?
Jennifer J
I like the purl stitch to make the cable pop
SHIRLEY R
Making purl stitches with ribber.

I like the look of the OOW needles, as it makes the twisting the cables easier, and segregates the cable.
Jean S
love the idea of two colors forming the cable. Think this would be great on a color block blanket.
Stephanie S
Could you leave 2 out of work each side?
Marie-Jo C
I like very much these green and blue cables. Very original !
Jennifer J
Sorry I am late. This is new to me. I have hand knit lots of cables, but never on the machine
Betty E J
do you need to up the needle size? right before you the the cable
Jean S
or use a stitch holder to help you transfer the stitches if you don't have a transfer tool.
Kelly C

Lynne K

Margaret G
How do you make a cable without a three-prong tool?
Renée A
Does it matter which direction the cables go. Renée
