Amy G i started as a sewer and got into machine knitting. I look at the line drawings on sewing patterns to come up with design ideas |
Nancy M a peplum design element can hide the need for the extra width |
Elizabeth T Laura nelkin is a knitting Patten designer that does "novus" construction sweaters that are knit sideways as usually have lace panels over the sleeves and arms. I think they'd be easy to adapt |
Judy P send a pic sounds great. just did a stripe sweater and took longer to tie in ends than to knit |
Jean S Love that idea Louise V! |
Louise V I just finished a sideways sweater with self striping yarn.... it has now vertical stripes = slimming effect. :grinning: - |

Jean S That's exactly what has happened to me Patricia....our youngest daughter gave me a sweater for Christmas and I could use it like a blanket! |

Marie-Jo C Are the perfect fit patterns available for raglan garments ? |
Dawn W Future subject: Have some cotton yarn that I would like to make a summer top or cover up from. What adjustments are needed for non stretchy yarns? |

Matthew F we have all the interactive maps available in the replays of the live events. If you see the "Live Map" it will load up again |
Phyllis K D Could the map of knitters online be saved and put perhaps in the forum? It would be fun to see who is here, and from where, week to week. |
I find it very hard to measure a swatch in pattern, for instance I managed to knit a pet-sweater during the holidays in a tuck pattern and it was much too big with the measurements I took. |
Diana H I've been doing the same as Nancy M, worked so far but I need to adjust more. |
Heidi T That's where Cut and Sew comes in handy. |
