Dawn W

Marie-Jo C
Thank you for answering, Sue !
Judy P
There is a yarn bomb in Philly this week and they want 8" squares
Barbara P
Love your velour top! What's the yarn?
Catherine
A sampler blanket!
Jean S
Your welcome Les
Les B
Thanks Jean
Cindy Minota
We could make panels of different stitch patterns so that if they are a different width, it won't matter!
Cynthia P
you have to do a border on the 10 st blanket to get rid of the curl
Maryann B
Lookup Frankie Brown on Ravelry She is the originator of both the rectangle and circular ten-stitch patterns
Jean S
Les B...I wet and block leave until dry then lightly steam press...then measure.
Cynthia P
2 amitered corners. i tried it with one and it didn't work
Maryann B
multiple yarns and stitches blanket KAL
Les B
I understand about the advantage of swatching, but nobody shows the best way of steaming or how long you leave after steaming /wetting.
Marie-Jo C
No map today ?
Phyllis in Raleigh
A real stash-buster!
Phyllis in Raleigh
Yes, a blanket knit along would be great.
Cynthia P
shoudl be sew as you go
Mary Ann B
Great way to use up partial cones.
Cynthia P
a Judy P a 10 st blanet is made working with only 10 st and a knit as you go you can find it on goodle search.
Ritta K
How about incorporating something like "A Machine Knitter's Guide to Creating Fabrics" to make squares to make a blanket. Will kill 2 birds with one stone

Please a knit along would be great
Cindy Minota
Oh, I like that because you won't have a ton of ends either!
Jean S
Thanks Maria Ann Y...I've written that down....when I was teaching I stressed swatching until some of my customers groaned...lol

I have a double machine, flatbed and a ribber. But I don't like it how my work folds after knitting. What can I do? Is it only blanket binding that makes it lay flat?
Nancy M
just had an idea for the sampler blanket, she could do the squares and use cut and sew to have all the squares the same size
Maria Ann Y
Jean S: True. I usually cast on between 60 stitches and knit 70 rows and then mark the 30 middle stitches and 40 rows
Judy P
what is the 10 st blanket
Phyllis in Raleigh
Cynthia, yes that's the one, the 10 stitch blanket.
Michelle E
Love the knit along idea
Jean S
10 st blanket??? intriquing
Cynthia P
don't forget the 10 st blanket
Jean S
KAL...yes please!
Cindy Minota
I have a cone of yarn just waiting to become a blanket! I'm in for a KAL!
Lyn R
Good idea
Deborah H
KAL Yes Please!
Carol D

Erin P

Jean S
You can't see me but I'm nodding...
Phyllis in Raleigh
Cynthia, very cool. I need to watch the replay of that last session to take notes on the blanket style you mentioned.
Marilyn T.F. M
Marilyn Always swatch - even in sewing, how will garment be cleaned, stitching length & tension, etc.
Cynthia P
I am
Jean S
Yup!
Maria Ann Y
:)
Jean S
sorry I hit the space bar...Thanks Maria Ann Y...just got the 150 and still trying to figure out the difference. No where in the book that came with the machine tells me how to swatch.
Phyllis in Raleigh
Judy, I will only there during the Friday lunch hour to see a friend.
Jean S
Thanks Maria
Cynthia P
thanks Phyllis it is done and i am wearing it now.
Nancy M
oh yes blanket binding is a great idea
Maria Ann Y
If you want the same size blanket, then yes, Jean S
Judy P
raleigh people - are you going to be at the seminar in may?
Phyllis in Raleigh
Cynthia, I enjoyed your comments in the live session.
Cynthia P
yes Phyllis that is me
Phyllis in Raleigh
Cynthia, are you the Cynthia from the sideways knit along?
Jean S
Does the number of cast on stitches for a 150 change from using a standard gauge?
Cynthia P
no one did swatches to try and get the proper guage. even those from the yarn company couldn't get it to lay flat

Please what does it really mean to swatch? Also I always see gauge what does it mean to? I machine knit a lot but don't know how to swatch, guage and the necessity for these things. Please help me because I like the maths calculator
Cynthia P
i saw the blanket that was a Kal from a yarn company and many designers designed one block. what a disaster and the people paid $100's of dollars and it didn't lay flat.
Jean S
But the swatching is great training...
Nancy M
that double panel idea would be great for a fairisle blanket as the floats are contained
Barbara W
The double panel only on the sides?
Erin P
Diana Sullivan and Roberta Rose Kelly have videos of Entrelac
Phyllis in Raleigh
You could use an i-cord to sew in between panels.
Catherine
I binge watch TV while weaving the ends in.
Jean S
Love the idea of two colored cable join....
Dawn W
Have used a 4 stitch cable join for queen size two panel afghan.
Cynthia P
Kitchener st
Catherine
A LOT of ends to weave in but worth it!
Catherine
I found the pattern in an old Bond machine knitting book.
Cindy Minota
This is new to me and it's beautiful!
Nancy M
I've used the twisted join ,too.
Mary Ann B
Catherine that sounds like a great way to go.
Catherine
I use entrelac for my blankets. You can make them as large as you want.
Cynthia P
so sorry i am late.
Marie-Jo C
I've learnt this technique with the videos, it's gorgeous but it'isn't that easy ! !
Cindy Minota
unravel?
Jenny M B
How do you finish off the hairpin lace at the end?
Mary Ann B
Carol Y. Never. Unravel the next two stitches as you go along.
Betty E J
Can you use a safety pin on edge to knit it open.?

Ella in Hueytown, AL I have done this type of blanket and it seems to be the favorite of my adult children when they come over.
Carol Y
new to me! love it. Do you unravel all the way down before weaving back up?
Dee Zando
The only time I do one panel is for baby blankets and my favorite is using the g-carriage with seed stitch or garter stitch on edges to prevent rolling. Otherwise, always in panels with edging, etc. to prevent rolling.
Maryann B
Still working on KAL Re-cast-on both sleeves
Lyn R
Yes knit baby blankets and then crovvhet boarders
Margaret J
Great made a baby blanket
Carol D
