Hi Maureen, I'm pretty new to this too. I have to admit I was terrified to attach the ribber!  Good luck and nice to see another beginner here 🙂

I'm going to be a new machine knitter and I’m new to Knit It Now. I just read your post (even though that post was more than a year ago!). I hope your machine knitting is going well. I also live in FL so it’s good to see another Floridian here (I’m in Central FL).
