Negative Ease
Having the knitted piece smaller than the body size for a snug fit
Ease is the difference between the actual body measurement and the finished garment size
.Negative ease indicates that the knitted piece is smaller than the body measurement. This is often used for socks and hats that require a snug fit.
Ease is a personal choice. The best way to establish your preferred ease is to measure a knitted item that you like and duplicate those measurements for your finished measurements.
Knit it Now patterns are calculated based on the dimensions you enter. If you enter 40" for the bust and you've included ease, the finished sweater will be 40", including any ease you added. (We do not add additional ease to your measurements)
