Manual Machines
A knitting machine without working punchcard or electronics to automatically select needles (automatic patterning)
With manual machines, the knitter selects needles by hand (often with a Needle Pusher ).
Other devices are also available to make needle selection easier on manual machines.
Most of the stitch pattern techniques available with Automatic Patterning machines are knit-able on manual machines. It's just a matter or manually selecting needles.
To more easily keep track of the sequence of needles to be selected, we recommend a "cheat sheet" gauged to your Machine Needle Pitch.
